Over the last few weeks it has been fun to engage in fresh start exercises, like reflecting on 2023, choosing a new word of the year, and creating a vision board.
These activities have felt extra impactful this year, and I’m already seeing results, especially in having a sense of peace and focus. I can wholly attribute that feeling to getting clear about what’s most important to me, and expressing it in various ways (the exercises listed above, sharing it here on Substack, and with my family and friends).
Even if you’re not typically a new year-new me sort of person, setting some sort of intention, in whatever way feels right to you, could greatly impact the way your year unfolds. You can find a list of ideas in this post or this email newsletter.
A new, easy way to set the tone for your year
This week, I’m sharing one more beginning of the year activity, a new-to-me exercise, which was so enjoyable to cultivate: writing a 24 in 24 list.
The idea comes from Gretchen Rubin, an author who co-hosts the Happier Podcast with her sister, Elizabeth Craft, and the concept is simple: make a list of 24 things you’d like to do in 2024.
There’s lots of room to make this activity your own in that you can focus on goals, habits, or a list of little things that would make you happy. Gretchen and Elizabeth played with the number 24, and so you’ll see that I also used that as a fun creative guide with my list.
If you’d like to have a wonderful year, a great way to start is to say what you’d like to happen. After creating my list, I’m even more excited for 2024 and have already started embarking on some of my initiatives.
I hope that my list will jump start your creativity and inspire you to make your own!
