That’s a wrap
Let’s reflect on the best things from this year
We’re smack in the middle of the holiday season, and I hope you’ve been finding pockets of time to savor the little joys. So far, I’ve relished watching classic holiday movies, putting together a new gallery wall next to our Christmas tree, and keeping cozy, ambient scenes running on our TV screens (I keep coming back to this one).
Another thing I adore doing this time of year is reflecting on all the best things. While my husband and I have been informally throwing around "What was your favorite ______" questions, I thought it would be fun to compile a list and share it here on Substack.
I also love the idea that this post could serve as a 2023 time capsule, and I hope you all might join me in this exercise.
Here are some ways you might enjoy using it:
Prompt your family and friends to share their favorites over a delightful meal together.
Create an illustrated or hand-lettered version of your favorites list for your journal.
Share your list with your online community or on social media.
Save your favorites in a Notion list, Note, or spreadsheet for future reference when a friend asks for a recommendation.
Use it as a gratitude exercise, inviting more wonderful things into your life.
Lastly, I hope you’ll share your answers below, read one another’s, and get inspired by all the things that brought them joy this year.
