I love designating a word or mantra of the year, but I haven't locked mine down for this year! This may have been just the impetus I needed to take some time out for myself for reflection. The days are already getting away from us, aren't they?! It's mid-February already! Thank you for your always thoughtful and inspiring self-reflective content.

Amen to this: "One of the greatest lessons I learned in my 30s was that if you aren’t clear about what you want for yourself, everyone else will impart their wishes upon you."

Love your word of the year and reflections! My word for 2025 is EXTRAORDINARY. As in, how can I turn the ordinary moments into extraordinary ones? And how can I bring in extraordinary collaborators into my world, and create the most extraordinary work possible for myself? I'm tacking it on to everything I'm looking for this year -- it's been motivating so far!

I'm so glad that bit resonated with you, Kara. I LOVE your word for 2025. Wow. In reading your intentions, I'm getting big, sweeping Broadway energy (very Sutton singing "Astonishing" from Little Women 🎶) which is so fitting. I'm glad the year is off to a great start and look forward to seeing how the rest unfolds!

Thank you for sharing! My word this year is JOY! My motto as of January is, “Let the GOOD be GOOD!”. I am grateful to be able to keep these two things close, because the world around me seems to be imploding. These two, and my faith, keep me grounded!

Thank you for reading, Andonnia! Your word brought me joy in reading that you've selected it. And your motto! What a power move. I hope that amid the chaos, it was a wonderful month for you.

I always delight to not only hear your word of the year but to SEE the visual inspiration of it! You are so “clearly” 😉 an artist, finding meaning and significance even in the position of the glasses. 👓 I love it. And love your commitment to hone your focus and wants… and to be unapologetic about it. This feels like the beauty of “middle age,” and you are paving a beautiful path it’s a true honor to journey alongside. And follow in step!

My word of the year revealed itself to me a week or so ago… and it’s SOFT! Looking forward to sharing more about when we get together so soon. (Though not this Friday like I definitely thought for a few days recently 🤪; l had to curb my enthusiasm when I realized my mistake. January really is the longest month! Ha ha.)

Likewise! I feel like I started choosing a word of the year right around the time we connected and both have made life a little sweeter!

Your word is such a powerful one. I love hearing what everyone chooses because I think I try to adopt little parts of them, and SOFT is definitely something I want to invite into my life.

So grateful for our Friday Meetup and all the love and hospitality you shared with us. Here's to 2025! ✨
